Michael Ormandy is Sport Otago’s new golf development officer, replacing Michael Smith who resigned recently to take up a job as a technical rep with TaylorMade-Adidas.
Ormandy will start his new role on November 16. An Oamaru resident, he will move to Dunedin when he commences the job.
Ormandy represented Otago at junior and schoolboy level. He also captained the Otago team that played Aorangi for the Piper Cup in his last year at school.
‘’There is plenty of junior talent around and I want to see these players realise their potential,’’ he said.
