Something else this process has made me reconsider is the set-up of my clubs.
I’ve always been really keen on equipment and confident in my set-up but a recent fitting made me take a different look at how I was scoring, and what I was expecting from my game.
To cut a long story short, I’ve invested about $2000 importing new clubs , a set of Titleist irons which have hollow heads and which are only available in America and Japan. I am hitting them about a club longer without sacrificing trajectory or the ability to hold greens.
I’m by no means saying you need to throw a load of cash at the situation. The upshot here is I’ve been able to drop a hybrid and add an extra wedge, meaning I now have to guess less on distance control when it comes to my scoring clubs. This is going to help me hit more pitches close from 100m and in, making more birdies or getting up and down for par.
