Butch Har­mon, John­son’s coach, has got the golfer to work on re­tain­ing some knee flex in his right leg upon com­ple­tion of his back­swing. Why? John­son is so sup­ple that if his right leg straight­ens, thus in­creas­ing his hip turn, his up­per body will “ro­tate for­ever”, which will re­sult in the club be­ing way across the line at the top of his back­swing.
