DOWNSWING

The Cut - - BY TOM LONG -

One of the dangers of Johnson clearing his hips so early in his downswing is that the momentum created can make him drag his arms across his chest and bring the dreaded left side of the golf course into play. To guard against this, Harmon has been working on getting Johnson to fire his right leg on the downswing and extend his arms away from his torso through impact. This image of Johnson just after impact illustrates his superb transition and extension through the ball.
