SAMSUNG GEAR S3, $600

The Dominion Post - Your Weekend (Dominion Post) - - In The Mix -

On paper, the Gear S3 frontier smartwatch boasts all the latest in mobile technology: water resistant, 3G connectivity and built-in GPS. Understanding the specs from a fitness perspective rather than as a tech geek, this means you can stream motivating music straight to Bluetooth headphones, map movements and even position yourself if you get lost during a bushwalk or outdoor pursuit.

Because of a tiny esim, the watch can make and receive texts and calls – really handy if you’re playing a game of squash or tennis, or doing a pump class, but can’t afford to miss a call. With my minimal use, the battery lasted about four days. It is robust, practical and masculine. I really liked wearing this as an accessory on active days, though I did find it quite heavy on my wrist.
