Suicide safety net under threat from lack of funds

The Dominion Post - - Politics-News -

Revelations that Lifeline Aotearoa has only enough money to run for one more year are another blow to the already strained mental health system, Green Party health spokesman Kevin Hague said. Lifeline Aotearoa provides free 24/7 mental health assistance through phone lines 0800 Lifeline, 0508 Tautoko (a suicide crisis line), and 0800 Kidsline. Hague said the health system was already palming people off on the 0800 services and if Lifeline went under a significant safety net would be gone.
