State TV shock jock

The Dominion Post - - Opinion -

Your June 28 editorial compares the Mike Hosking petition to a hypothetical one in which Rightwing viewers might have targeted John Campbell when he was on TV3.

But the difference between TV3 and TVNZ is that all New Zealanders own TVNZ.

Many of us remember when it used to act in the public interest and tried in its own small way to make New Zealand a better place.

Clearly now its main priority is profiting from a divisive, preening shock jock.

Yes, we can vote with our remotes, but our expectations have sunk as far as they can go if all we can hope for from our national broadcaster is this uninformed, self-parodic narcissist.
