Longboard sentencing

Two men who were in a car that hit and killed a longboarder riding down a steep Kapiti Coast road have been sentenced to community work. Germaine Dage-ville and Devon Welch were following Tristan Hunter down Maungakotukutuku Rd as a Go-Pro camera fixed to the bumper of the car filmed his run on March 25, 2016. The pair pleaded guilty to dangerous driving causing death after Welch lost control of the car while trying to avoid Hunter, hitting him instead.The judge disqualified both from driving for a year, and ordered them to complete 150 hours of community work.
