WAIRARAPA BEACH PARTY

Summer isn’t offering much in the way of beach weather, but you can pop over the Rimutaka Hill in your favourite swimwear to play pretend at Club Wairarapa’s annual beach party. Featuring the sounds of Taranaki duo Tira and Berna, better known as Just Us. Essex Street, Masterton; 7.30pm-11.30pm. Free entry.

A CARNIVAL ATMOSPHERE

Upper Hutt City Library’s staff will take their mobile bus to Harcourt Park between 10am and noon for a morning of carnival games and stories. This is part of the library’s summer lineup. Akatarawa Rd, Upper Hutt. Free entry.
