Health Ministry to focus its priorities for end-of-life care

-

Health Minister Jonathan Coleman has launched a review and action plan into national palliative care services. ‘‘When factoring in our growing and ageing population, recently published research predicted that over the next 20 years the number of people needing palliative care will increase 51 per cent, from 24,680 in 2016 to more than 37,000 in 2038,’’ he said. The ministry’s review would focus on improving services over the next three to five years.
