Labour puts hard word on donors over campaign cash

The Dominion Post - - Politics -

Labour is reaching into the United States presidential play book, putting the hard word on supporters to stump up cash and even threatening to wind back the election campaign if they do not dig deep for the party. On Tuesday, in an emailed plea to supporters for funds, campaign manager Andrew Kirton said the party had to raise another $9179 to reach its March target. ‘‘If we don’t reach our target, I’ll have to make some tough calls over the weekend and work out what we scale back,’’ he said.
