Ashby’s NZ record

Kiwi swimmer Bradlee Ashby has set a national record but missed out on the final of the 200m individual medley at the world championships in Hungary. Part of the New Zealand squad at last year’s Rio Olympics, Ashby swum 1min 59.24sec in Budapest yesterday. The time was good enough to cut 0.3s of his own national record but he had to settle for 13th fastest across the two semifinals, with the top eight advancing to the final. The Waikato swimmer improved by a second on the time he set in his heat.
