Man winched off boat

-

Fishing on a boat near Wellington ended in amajor medical event for one young man yesterday. But thanks to swift action from Life Flight’s Westpac rescue helicopter crew, he was in a stable condition at Wellington Hospital last night. It was determined the man required urgent care after a call from a fishing boat. The Rescue Co-ordination Centre New Zealand called the Life Flight crew, and a Wellington Free Ambulance intensive care paramedic was later winched down to the patient. Once the young man was stable, they were both winched back into the helicopter and flown to hospital.
