Scorers face using pencils
Receivers of troubled cricket scoring company CricHQ are battling to have the platform online before a fresh round of club cricket today. On October 17, Wellington-headquartered CricHQ was placed into receivership after failing to raise capital. The platform has been offline for at least three days, prompting Cricket New Zealand to warn clubs across the country to brace for a return to paper scoring. Receivers KordaMentha said it was still trying to get the technology working. Yesterday, CricHQ’s headquarters in Kelburn were empty and locked, with a sign directing inquiries to KordaMentha. Previously the office housed more than 20 staff.
