A Reddit group dedicated to discussing all the instances where New Zealand is left off world maps this week inspired a BBC Radio 4 presenter to take to the streets of London with a New Zealand-less map to ask members of the public what country was missing. The results weren’t great with only a handful of Brits noticing our absence. Wellington City Libraries shared a cool post yesterday showing one of their lovely librarians returning an interloaned item to the New York Public Library, in person, while on holiday in the US. ‘Turns out it was faster than posting it’ the post said. For those curious about the book itself, it was a copy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in Sinhalese – the native language of the Sinhalese people, who make up the largest ethnic group in Sri Lanka.
