Priorities awry

The Dominion Post - - Opinion -

It is very interesting that the first priority of the new, Labour-led, Government was to introduce legislation, under urgency, to extend paternal leave.

Surely, urgency should have been given to much needed legal changes to restrict property purchases by overseas investors.

It seems short-sighted to announce such changes without being ready to enact them immediately. This will just precipitate a purchase splurge by foreign buyers getting in early before the law changes.

Labour, Greens and NZ First need to get their priorities sorted and not just do what is easiest first. PETER D GRAHAM
