The Dominion Post - - Capital Day -

The Free as a Hawk Refuge in Te Horo has had a happy ending in its quest to find a new home for its three male alpacas. It took just three days for a suitable home to be found, unsurprising given the thousands of comments and shares the post received online. The trio are moving just down the road from the Kapiti Coast sanctuary, a dream result for the animals who don’t cope well being by themselves.

Wellingtonians are being encouraged to ‘‘Return the love’’ this Christmas with the return of the annual Tree of Hope campaign run by Animates pet shops. Running until Christmas Eve, customers are encouraged to buy a $3, $5 or $10 Joy, Love or Hope decoration to hang on the trees set up in Animates stores and Animates Vetcare clinics. Funds raised will go to the SPCA and the Mobility Assistance Dogs Trust.
