Beware, ratepayers

The Dominion Post - - Opinion -

So , Sir Pete and Sir Dickie are a little miffed that they can’t have everything their own way as regards their ultimate vanity project, are they?

As usual, they throw all the toys out of the cot again to ensure they get what they want (in this case, a beautiful building to house Sir Pete’s collection of toys at little expense to themselves and maximum profit).

It is time for Wellingtonians to wake up – these people do not even cross the road if there is nothing in it for them. They are not philanthropists, they are multimillionaires with an eye to the bottom line. The pushing through of the ‘‘Hobbit Law’’ and the massive expense of their World War I glorification projects should be a warning to everyone. Ratepayers beware. BILL MOSS Vogeltown
