Tourist jailed after sexual harassment complaint

-

A Lebanese tourist who complained about being sexually harassed while in Egypt in a video posted on Facebook has been jailed for eight years by a court in Cairo for insulting the country. Mona al-Mazbouh was arrested at Cairo airport as she was leaving Egypt after her short stay there. In her video, she also ranted at the personal qualities of Egyptian people, saying that the men were conmen and thieves, while the women were prostitutes. She ended by saying that they all ‘‘deserved what President Sisi was doing to them’’.
