Kopua’s career in doubt
New Zealand netball great Casey Kopua’s elite career could be over after a season-ending foot injury. The former Silver Ferns captain was a late withdrawal from last Wednesday’s game against the Northern Stars after injuring her foot in the warm-up. MRI scans confirmed a tear to the plantar fascia. The injury will require around eight weeks of rehabilitation and sideline her for the remainder of the Waikato-Bay of Plenty Magic’s national premiership season. It could also spell the end of the 33-year-old’s top-level career.
