Labour candidate

Our biggest challenges involve water and right now protecting our rights – as locals – to make decisions for Hawke’s Bay which impact on our local economy and the environment. We must lead on water. We need safe, secure drinking water, water to feed our livestock and grow crops, and clean rivers. We should not be giving our water away free so it can be put in plastic bottles and shipped offshore for profit.

I believe by leading on local issues we can create positive change, empower our local communities and make a real difference for more people living and raising families here in this great place we call home.

I’m bringing fresh leadership, new energy and positive action with a down-to-earth approach to putting people first. I’ve helped achieve results without even being in office, including turning off water bottling consents behind closed doors, more community policing, free driving lessons, getting $1m back from the public health costs of the water crisis, fighting for a promised school for Havelock North to meet local needs and protecting our right to be GM Free Hawke’s Bay. Imagine what I will do as Tukituki’s new local MP, here working for you. Labour is local, it’s what sets us apart – Let’s do this.
