Swimmer a national champ, again
A teenage swimmer from the Raumati Raptors Swimming Club is again a New Zealand champion.
Paraparaumu 13-year-old Tori Grout has won a national title for the second time this year, after winning a gold medal in the 50m breaststroke final, on top of silver in the 100m breaststroke and bronze in 200m breaststroke, at the 2017 New Zealand Short Course Championships in Auckland.
More than 100 clubs from throughout the country and overseas, including Australia and Tahiti, were represented.
In March, Tori raced to gold at the National Age Group Championships.
She said she was ‘‘pretty happy’’ to stand on the top spot of the podium once again, at the top of her game and the top of her age group.
Also at the New Zealand Short Course Championships, fellow Raptor swimmer Tommie Milne, 16, of Reikorangi, won a bronze medal in her 100m breaststroke final.
