WE SAY

I see red, I see red, I see red.

This lyric popped into my head as I was watching the All Blacks vs the Lions test match on Saturday night.

I wasn’t angry, or watching ‘‘my baby walking down the street’’ but just in awe of the sea of red in the stands at Eden Park.

The Brits really know how to support and celebrate their team. They don’t knock them when they fail to win but just enjoy all the good moments.

I’m looking forward this week to seeing lots of people dressed in red around the streets of Wellington.

The weather forecast isn’t too bad and I hope all our UK visitors enjoy the hospitality and atmosphere the capital can provide.

As well as a party on the waterfront, special lighting installations will guide all the fans on their way to the stadium tonight and on Saturday.

Let’s back our team, but also enjoy the moment.
