Second motorway walker found, after earlier death
A day after a pedestrian was killed on the Wellington motorway, another person has been found walking along the stretch of highway.
Police received multiple calls about the man, who was walking north along a southbound lane of the motorway near the Aotea off ramp about 7.30am on Monday.
He was reportedly looking down at the Interislander ferry terminal. Police picked the man up and took him to Petone.
The incident was just 13 hours after another man was killed while walking on the motorway.
It was 6.25pm on Sunday when police were told a car had hit a man on the motorway and he was lying on the road, just south of the Ngauranga interchange, police said.
Police were investigating how he ended up on the motorway.
