The Insider's Guide to New Zealand

Vesta Design Boutique

-

If walls could speak, the Vesta Design Boutique walls could definitely share a few yarns since they have been standing for over 150 years. In fact, the cottage Vesta is housed in is Queenstown's oldest home and, with the choice of real estate available in the 1860s, it stands in a beautiful lakefront position. However, what the original owners may not have known was just how dynamic nature could be, and the distinct flood markings on the peeling layers of wallpaper record the continual ebb and flow of nature.

Each of the original small rooms is full of New Zealand made or designed goods ranging from small gifts, jewellery and limited-edition prints to furniture and a room full of David Trubridge lights. Complete with creaking floors and an old stone fireplace, a wander through the intimate space is a window into Queenstown's past, which impressively continues to have a well-loved place in the modern buzzing town. 19 Marine Parade.
