The Invercargill Eye - - FRONT PAGE -

Just three sleeps till Christmas and this is the last edition of the Eye for 2017.

It has been a year to reconnect, with several reunions including 50 years for Kingswell High School and Glengarry.

I have met some incredible people this year, like Dot McCulloch who had surgery and could see for the first time in 15 years.

I’ve had the privilege of being a part of amazing initiatives like the Onward Project, which helped identify WW1 soldiers from Southland and identified Richard Chamberlain’s father and uncle.

I have been pushed out of my comfort zone and forced to try new things with a series of 60-minute challenges, including busking, indoor go-cart racing and even attempting to play the bagpipes.

It has been a year to remember. I am excited to see what 2017 will bring.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
