Ah, summer - a time to whip out your togs, slap on some sunscreen and relax. That is unless you are in Southland...

So far our summer has consisted of grey clouds, low temperatures and cold winds. It’s all everyone seems to be talking about.

Don’t let it get you down my fellow Southlanders, because the weather man has promised the sun will come out tomorrow... well, in February anyway.

Luckily here in the deep south of New Zealand we are used to the cold. It is an element we thrive in.

There is still so much you can do, so don’t let the weather hold you back. Ok so we aren’t going to have the best tans in the country, so what!

We still have some great landscapes like Milford Sound that can be enjoyed even in the cold provided you bring a raincoat and scarf.

So don’t let the bad weather get you down. Hold on, because the promise of summer is just around the corner. I hope.
