FROM THE NEWS DESK
It’s come a month late, but it’s finally feeling like spring is here.
I see blossoms popping up, daffodils sprouting in gardens and the trees have a less-dead look about them.
I’ve even seen people sporting shorts and T-shirts - but let’s be real, the Southland bloke wears that sort of attire on a -6 degree morning no worries.
This week to celebrate my excitement of the sun coming out, I took a visit to the beach and even popped along to the Winton Flower Show.
The show was fragrant, colourful and very spring-like.
They not only had an array of floral displays, but also artworks and creations by children.
There are more shows to come, including one in Te Anau on Friday and Saturday.
And if you can’t make it all the way out there, there’s still plenty going on in town.
The Invercargill Spring Festival is heating up, proving a treat these school holidays.
With all this going on, it’s not hard to tell spring is my favourite season! REPORTER: Rebecca Moore, email@example.com, (03) 3 211 1033, (027) 539 3393.
