FROM THE NEWS DESK
‘‘New Year, new me.’’
It’s that time of year again where people seek to be a better version of themselves with New Year resolutions - but how long will they last? If you are asking me, the answer is not long.
People vow to drop the extra weight put on during Christmas, put down the cigarettes, drink less or stop nail biting.
For me, I have told myself I need to eat better for the past year now. However, my last few meals have been McDonalds for dinner, no breakfast followed by a nicely cheesed pasta dish.
You could say it’s not really going that well for me so far.
But I think we should all better ourselves all the time, not just one time of the year. (Yes, that line is cheesier than my pasta).
While I do see that setting a certain date for a goal and having a point to measure from may be useful, I think all year round we should make an effort.
I hope every one had a fantastic break and I look forward to getting back into the community and hearing your stories this year.
