Own your own positive tribe

The Invercargill Eye - - CONVERSATIONS -

seen you do in a similar situation? Do they witness a ‘fake it til ya make it’, or do they see a mum/ dad who is genuine?

Whether your view of the world comes from a positive or a negative space due to your own upbringing and experiences, then that is what your kids will feed off. If you haven’t figured it out yet, your wee darlings soak it all up – the good, the bad, the ugly – but team, the younger ones are not that great at processing it all (this may have come back to bite you once or twice huh).

What they hear may not be what they actually hear, even the great stuff! Your job is to get the message across, loud and clear.

Don’t fob off the journey to your school, your mates, their mates. You are their parents/ caregivers. Ask the hard questions and decide to be intentional about raising these awesome mini me’s to be the best adults they can be (stop comparing your family to others, if you are doing this you are projecting something. Could be inferiority or superiority maybe?).

And if you are going through tough times or feel a bit lost or helpless, seek out some support.

We have access to so much incredible and professional advice. Every great adventure started with one small step.

Own your zone team – you’re shaping the kids who will either build up or break down. Huge.
