The Leader (Tasman) - - YOUR LOCAL NEWS -

When I first started in this role it was around the time of the school holidays.

I set about painstakingly putting together a top 5 of playgrounds in that parents could exploit for free to entertain their children.

This came from extensive personal research having spent many weekends patiently pushing my children on the swings, scooping them up when they toppled over and generally getting myself a bit puffed.

In fact I think there’s room in the market for a workout guide to playgrounds.

So praise be for the playground. Kids never tire of them and parents, whose imaginations are severely tested by a fortnight of extra parenting, have had their sanity saved by them.

So good luck for the school holidays.

By the time you read this you’re almost halfway there but if you’re stuck for ideas don’t look past the humble playground.

If it rains though you’re on your own.
