Seminar on heart health
Nelsonians living with a heart condition or supporting someone with heart disease will have a chance to learn about managing their health at an upcoming seminar.
Clinical nurse specialist Paul Peacock is speaking at a public seminar hosted by the Heart Foundation.
Nelson/Marlborough heart health advocate Averil West said that Peacock had more than two decades of experience in cardiac nursing.
She said he would present a simple journey of the heart by explaining what could be done to help maintain its function.
‘‘Paul helps people with heart disease to manage their own heart health, lower their risk of future admissions to hospital, and improve quality of life,’’ West said.
Nutritionist and Heart Foundation volunteer Vicky Stedman would also be at the seminar to answer questions on changing eating habits.
The seminar will appeal to anyone with a heart condition or who may be supporting someone living with heart disease.
