Cranford Hospice received $15,650.90 from the Napier and Hastings Farmers stores as part of the Trees of Remembrance before Christmas. Nationally the campaign in 61 Farmers stores raised $668,732 for hospice services. Customers were given the opportunity to remember someone special during the festive season by making a donation to support the local hospice and hanging a tag on one of the trees. These tags from Hawke’s Bay stores were blessed, burnt and the ashes were buried in Cranford’s garden. Last year, Cranford Hospice provided care and support for more than 720 people and their families from around the region.
