Cran­ford Hos­pice re­ceived $15,650.90 from the Napier and Hast­ings Farm­ers stores as part of the Trees of Re­mem­brance be­fore Christ­mas. Na­tion­ally the cam­paign in 61 Farm­ers stores raised $668,732 for hos­pice ser­vices. Cus­tomers were given the opportunity to re­mem­ber some­one spe­cial dur­ing the fes­tive sea­son by mak­ing a do­na­tion to sup­port the lo­cal hos­pice and hang­ing a tag on one of the trees. These tags from Hawke’s Bay stores were blessed, burnt and the ashes were buried in Cran­ford’s gar­den. Last year, Cran­ford Hos­pice pro­vided care and sup­port for more than 720 peo­ple and their fam­i­lies from around the re­gion.
