Loss felt deeply

-

The family of the woman who was fatally hit by a car in Paekakariki on Sunday have spoken out about the loss of an engaging person with a very sharp mind. Caroline Boyd, 56, died at the weekend after being hit by a car outside Paekakariki School. “She leaves an enormous void in the lives of her family, particularly her husband and three children, and her many close friends,” family spokeswoman Sarah Boyd said. “What is less obvious is the loss to the New Zealand public service.” Boyd had an economics honours degree from the University of Otago and worked in senior policy roles for various departments including Treasury, Women’s Affairs, Health, and the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet. A funeral for Boyd will be held on Tuesday next week.
