Black Ferns plans
Celebrating the Black Ferns remains on the agenda for New Zealand Rugby. The national body has been criticised for not doing enough to honour the achievements of the world champion women’s team who clinched their fifth World Cup crown with victory over England in last month’s final. At the All Blacks test against the Springboks in Albany on Saturday night, Black Ferns captain Fiao’o Fa’amausili and Sevens vicecaptain Tyla Nathan-Wong delivered the match ball via a helicopter. Public celebrations are planned in Auckland this week but a parade is not thought to be scheduled.
