Less disposable income shared
Bill English in the Hutt has summed up his supporters wanting “what’s best for them and what will put more money in their pockets”. Common sense I suppose, but some voters will hopefully vote for what’s best for the wider community.
As for more money in their pockets, in the nine years since they apparently gave NZ a small tax bribe, GST went up, fulltime permanent job security was legislated down, rents rose so more of National’s Accommodation Supplement needed to go to landlords.
Much less disposable income has been shared where it grows in healthy, safe communities. Time to think carefully, not selfishly. Jason Conway, Te Atatu North.
