Questions for DA

The New Zealand Herald - - WORLD -

The New York City prosecutor who chose not to charge Harvey Weinstein two years ago after he was accused of groping a young woman said that the decision was not influenced by campaign contributions. Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance has taken thousands of dollars in donations over the years from David Boies, a top lawyer in New York whose clients have included the Weinstein Co. Representatives for both Vance and Boies say the DA had no involvement and never contacted prosecutors in 2015 when police investigated a model’s accusation that Weinstein grabbed her breasts. Yesterday, Weinstein told Page Six TV he’s saddened that Hollywood has shunned him and “devastated” by his wife Georgina Chapman leaving him. Actresses Cara Delevigne and Lea Seydoux joined the long list of accusers against the film mogul.
