The New Zealand Herald - - Entertainment -

A high well east of the country maintains a firm ridge back onto the North Island. A cold front over the Tasman Sea is moving eastwards and crosses the lower South Island this morning and should be near Cook Strait tonight. Cold southerlies follow this front, bringing snow to low levels for the lower South Island.

LONG RANGE: Tomorrow a low approaches the upper North Island from the north. The low remains offshore and weakens Wednesday, while another front approaches the far south and spreads onto the lower South Island Thursday.
