Too late to whine

The Northern Advocate - - Opinion -

Reading about Whanga¯rei MP Shane Reti’s concerns about Housing New Zealand wanting to apply to build high density housing on Puriri Park made me smile.

Is this the same Shane Reti who was part of a National Government that created the housing crisis by ignoring it until it became a tidal wave of homelessness?

Is this the same Shane Reti who sat on his hands for three years while in that Government not once raising any concerns about the housing crisis, instead happily picking up his salary and perks while people were living in cars and garages, many because of his government’s policies?

I’m sorry Shane Reti, but your whining now should be seen for what it is, a desperate effort to try to throw dirt at a Government that is finally trying to do something about the issues his National party ignored for nine years.
