Flood work completed

The Northland Regional Council has completed hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of improvements to the Awanui flood scheme, after weeks of delays due to the Covid-19 lockdown. About 90,000 tonnes of soil was removed to transform a Kaitaia paddock into a 400-metre spillway behind Juken NZ’s triboard mill.
