Solid turnout for bowls tournament
A solid turnout of 19 teams contested the Geard’s Funeral Home Open title at the Cooper’s Beach Bowling Club at the end of May.
The annual mixed triples event on Tuesday, May 29, attracted 19 entries from Russell, Kerikeri, Far North RSA and host bowling clubs.

Results were Barry Allison, Alan Thom, Jill Phillips (RSA) 1, Graeme Hunt, Ellaine Albury, Sue Hunt (Keri) 2, Denis Hailey, Stu Pedersen, with first year bowler Richard Rowbotham (Coop) 3; while the lucky team draw was won by Norma Olsen, Nigel Leslie, Jeff Bell (Coop).
Thanks went to the generous sponsor and all who assisted on the day.
