New speed signs

The Northland Age - - Local News -

Hi-tech electronic speed signs are to be installed at the Mangapai Rd/State Highway 1 intersection at Oakleigh, south of Whanga¯rei, and at the Shoemaker Rd/SH1 intersection at Waipu. When a vehicle enters the Intersection Speed Zone to cross or turn on to or off the highway, the signs will temporarily reduce the legal speed limit on the highway from 100km/h to 60km/h. NZTA acting director of safety and environment, Lisa Rossiter, said intersection speed zones were a simple, relatively quick safety improvement that had reduced crash rates in New Zealand and overseas.
