Reporting rules put time delay on price data
Reporting on price and volume of fruit will be better next year after the rules around how it has to be done have been clarified.
Addressing this years New Zealand Citrus Growers conference, executive manager Rebecca Fisher said information had been scant as NZCGI sought legal clarification around new rules introduced by the Commerce Commission.
“The advice we have received is that while we can distribute volume data in real time, price data for mandarins, lemons and navels can’t be distributed until it is three months old,” she said.
“This year’s delays have been frustrating but we can confirm that we will have the new reporting rules in place for next year.”
