New Zealand Landscapes gallery opens in South Westland
Surrounded by native trees just outside the small village of Whataroa, in the South Island’s South Westland, you’ll find the Petr Hlavacek Art Gallery of New Zealand Landscapes, which opens on March 3.
The gallery — the first ‘brick and mortar’ gallery that renowned New Zealand landscape photographer Petr Hlavacek has opened — will house finely selected photographs of pristine, unique New Zealand landscapes, with many to be available as collectable art prints. At the time of opening, there will be 20 archival prints on display, with panoramas up to 1200mm wide.
The gallery will be open Monday to Friday from 9am to 7pm, with weekend and public holiday times outside these hours. It is located 28km north of Franz Josef Glacier, right on the edge of the Westland Tai Poutini National Park.
