Look who’s talking at Infocus Wellington 2016
The NZIPP’s annual Infocus conference will be held this year in Wellington over June 16–20. The speakers that have been announced so far are Susana Barbara, who is an international reference in documentary wedding photography; Vicky Papas Vergara, who is the brainchild behind the brand Vergara, which brings together her skills in photography, painting, creating wearable art, and styling; Troy Goodall, who is ranked in Lürzer’s Archive top-200 advertising photographers worldwide; James Simmons, known for his fine-art and wedding photography; Niki Boon, who focuses her photography on her family, lifestyle, and local environments; Grant Sheehan, two-time winner of the New Zealand Travel Photographer of the Year; and Jonathan Suckling, who started on his wedding photography venture in 2014, at age 18.
The 2016 Iris Professional Photography Awards is organized by the NZIPP every year, and has run for the last 30 years. The judging of the awards is to be held in conjunction with Infocus Wellington 2016, and the exhibition of finalists and winners, which is held during the event, delivers an annual showcase of cutting-edge imagery and photographic talent — the images are judged in an open forum over three days (this year from June 16 to 18), and the best ones entered are awarded Gold, Silver, and Bronze.
