Rather than going down the traditional Christmas episode route, television channel The Box has come up with a marathon (4.30pm till 7.30pm) that’s more in keeping with the real meaning of Christmas.
Yes, it’s a series of episodes featuring ‘‘old churchy’’ himself, Ned Flanders, and includes such gems as ‘‘Hurricane Neddy’’ and ‘‘Home Away From Homer’’.
If you prefer your musical comedy more animated in a different way, then Vibe is running a marathon of season two episodes of (from 3pm till 11.20pm) that includes a special Christmas episode at 9.50pm. The whole shebang is repeated from 10am Christmas Day.
Fans of British humour should check out either
(7pm, UKTV) or perennial favourite,
(7pm, Prime) which is the perfect mix of naughty and nice.
The same could be said for the (8.30pm, The Box). Billed as the sexiest special of the year, it features supermodels like Adriana Lima and Candice Swanepoel sporting wings (oh, and wearing the company’s latest lingerie), with music provided by Cee Lo Green, Kanye West and Maroon 5.
Angels also feature among the films on offer, especially in the Nicolas Cage/meg Ryan/dennis Franz romantic drama
( , 11.30pm, TV One) and ( , 3.55pm, TV One). But if the latter isn’t accurate enough for you, there’s always The History Channel’s two-hour documentary
(6.30pm). Meanwhile, for those of a different faith,
(8.30pm, History) provides an insight into George Lucas’ world.

(8.10pm), featuring Welsh opera star Katherine Jenkins.
Those who would rather belt out a tune themselves should head over to on MTV Classic (8pm).
