Rather than go­ing down the tra­di­tional Christ­mas episode route, tele­vi­sion chan­nel The Box has come up with a marathon (4.30pm till 7.30pm) that’s more in keep­ing with the real mean­ing of Christ­mas.

Yes, it’s a se­ries of episodes fea­tur­ing ‘‘old churchy’’ him­self, Ned Flan­ders, and in­cludes such gems as ‘‘Hur­ri­cane Neddy’’ and ‘‘Home Away From Homer’’.

If you pre­fer your mu­si­cal com­edy more an­i­mated in a dif­fer­ent way, then Vibe is run­ning a marathon of sea­son two episodes of (from 3pm till 11.20pm) that in­cludes a spe­cial Christ­mas episode at 9.50pm. The whole she­bang is re­peated from 10am Christ­mas Day.

Fans of Bri­tish humour should check out ei­ther

(7pm, UKTV) or peren­nial favourite,

(7pm, Prime) which is the per­fect mix of naughty and nice.

The same could be said for the (8.30pm, The Box). Billed as the sex­i­est spe­cial of the year, it fea­tures su­per­mod­els like Adriana Lima and Candice Swanepoel sport­ing wings (oh, and wear­ing the com­pany’s lat­est lin­gerie), with mu­sic pro­vided by Cee Lo Green, Kanye West and Ma­roon 5.

An­gels also fea­ture among the films on of­fer, es­pe­cially in the Ni­co­las Cage/meg Ryan/dennis Franz ro­man­tic drama

( , 11.30pm, TV One) and ( , 3.55pm, TV One). But if the lat­ter isn’t ac­cu­rate enough for you, there’s al­ways The His­tory Chan­nel’s two-hour doc­u­men­tary

(6.30pm). Mean­while, for those of a dif­fer­ent faith,

(8.30pm, His­tory) pro­vides an in­sight into Ge­orge Lu­cas’ world.

Sci-fi ac­tion is also on over on Prime with the 2010

(8.10pm), fea­tur­ing Welsh opera star Kather­ine Jenk­ins.

Those who would rather belt out a tune them­selves should head over to on MTV Clas­sic (8pm).
