Nestled in an idyl­lic coun­try set­ting, the Restau­rant @ Rossendale is the per­fect place to un­wind and revel in the warm sun­shine and bird­song.

‘‘With sum­mer here, guests can sit out in our gor­geous gar­dens with a glass of our fine wine and our pop­u­lar wine­maker’s plat­ter, which can be pre­pared for one or for two,’’ says man­ager Sue Jenk­ins.

Avail­able for Christ­mas func­tions, the restau­rant can ac­com­mo­date up to 70 peo­ple in­doors or in a gar­den pav­il­ion. Spe­cial menus can be or­gan­ised for larger groups and set menu op­tions are avail­able, while the a la carte menu is suit­able for smaller groups. All menus can be viewed online.

The more im­por­tant oc­ca­sions in life de­serve to be com­mem­o­rated, with spe­cial events re­mem­bered by guests long af­ter the cel­e­bra­tions have ended. Am­bi­ence, food and ser­vice all play their part in con­tribut­ing to the suc­cess of a spe­cial oc­ca­sion. For these rea­sons, the Restau­rant @ Rossendale is in­creas­ingly be­com­ing the venue cho­sen by fam­i­lies and groups as the set­ting for their own spe­cial cel­e­bra­tions, in­clud­ing golden wed­ding an­niver­saries, mile­stone birth­day par­ties and other happy oc­ca­sions.

‘‘These oc­ca­sions are very spe­cial to our guests, and we love to per­son­alise them by cre­at­ing a spe­cial menu and adding the ex­tra touches,’’ Jenk­ins says. ‘‘We reg­u­larly re­ceive feed­back from very happy guests, thank­ing our staff for their pro­fes­sional ser­vice, the lovely at­mos­phere and our tasty dishes.’’

Ex­cit­ing news from this award- win­ning bou­tique win­ery is the re­cent re­lease of the first Rossendale pinot gris. Grown in Marl­bor­ough, this in­tensely aro­matic wine has the aroma of crushed pear, peach and cit­rus. Tast­ing notes de­scribe the palate as soft, with flavours of pear, stone­fruit and guava. A medi­um­style wine, the pinot gris is an ex­cep­tional match for chicken, pasta and Asian dishes. The bot­tle sports Rossendale’s newly re­designed la­bel and a racy new gold and black top.

‘‘On the sub­ject of wines, we are run­ning our cel­lar door wine spe­cial, which makes a won­der­ful op­por­tu­nity to stock up for Christ­mas and the hol­i­day sea­son.’’
