The empire line strikes back

Your Shape the apple

The Press - Zest - - Fashion - JANE BROUGHTON

I ■f you are a traditional apple shape, you’ll carry most of your weight around your waist area and have fuller breasts, while your hips and backside are slim. So how can you dress an apple-shaped figure to make the most of its proportions?

Look for dress styles that have a high waistline. The empire line is a great look for apples as it downplays the torso.

Full skirts that are high waisted will help achieve balance with a fuller top half.

Hide an obvious midriff with long-line T-shirts. Layering is good to disguise a larger top half. Avoid tiny skirts and tight-fitting jeans as they will only accentuate your small bottom half

Choose wide-legged pants or capri pants that will even out your body shape.

Longer skirts will draw the eye downward and away from your midriff, giving the illusion of a longer torso.
