What you were wearing . . . as told to Harry Knight.

The Press - Zest - - Fashion -

My jacket is from Forever New and my Shakuhachi dress is from Zip Me Up, here in The Colombo. Most of my influences come from Zip Me Up, which is where I work. I like it because it stocks a lot of New Zealand and Australian designers. I always make sure what I wear is comfortable; I like loose, and also colourful every now and then. My boots are from Mi Piaci. I really like looking for things with a point of difference. I don’t like massmarket stuff. I find the easiest way to find unique stuff is by shopping overseas, which is where most of my clothes are from. I bought my boots in Rome and my True Religion jeans in Bali. My jacket is from Australia and the shirt is a hand-me-down. I like vintage, modern, old and new clothes, but I love being able to mash them all together. My coat was made by my nana for mymum when she was my age and Mummade me this skirt. I much prefer skirts or dresses over jeans. My glasses are from Groovy Glasses and my boots are from Andrea Biani.

My coat is from Dickins & Jones in London and my trousers and top are from Ezibuy. My main influence is the classic style, which I like because you can keep wearing it for years. I have had this coat for 20 years and I can still happily wear it today. I like adding something that’s a bit bright and colourful among the plainer classical clothes and I also think it’s important to dress for others and not for yourself. After all they have to look at you! My scarf is from Red Current and my boots are from Moda Bella.
