Choco­late for char­ity

The foil wrap­pers ripped off in haste to get to the choco­late within are about to hit the run­way and all for a good cause. As part of the Dunedin Cad­bury Choco­late Car­ni­val, wear­able art made with Cad­bury foils will take cen­tre stage on July 23 to raise funds for Te Whare Pounamu Dunedin Women’s Refuge. The open cat­e­gory for in­di­vid­u­als and fam­i­lies and the fash­ion stu­dent cat­e­gory will be judged by a panel that in­cludes Margi Robert­son from Nom*D, while the pub­lic can vote in the Peo­ple’s Choice award on the Cad­bury New Zealand Face­book page af­ter en­tries close on July 12.

Snug as a bug

A new range of New Zealand-made booties and blan­kets by Gor­geous Crea­tures is keep­ing ba­bies snug­gled up from top to toe. Made from calf­skin and lined with fluffy lamb­skin, the nat­u­ral-look­ing booties are avail­able in sizes to fit 3 months to 27 months and are avail­able in white with black, tan or choco­late.

As for wrap­ping those pre­cious wee bun­dles, the pos­sum/merino/silk mix blan­ket is gen­tle, su­per-soft and reg­u­lates tem­per­a­ture for baby’s year­round com­fort.

Kmart national gen­eral man­ager of ap­parel An­dre Re­ich says the jeans have been de­signed to re­flect cur­rent trends and are eth­i­cally sourced through Kmart Asia. Prices range from $11 to $25 a pair.
